Lower School (Ages 5–12 | ( KS1, KS2 and y7 transition to KS3)

In our Lower School, we specialise in helping younger pupils rebuild positive relationships with school and learning.

Many children arrive feeling anxious or disengaged — here they find a calm, kind, and highly supportive environment where they feel truly safe, accepted, and cared for from day one.

We focus on creating strong, trusting relationships and a sense of belonging so every child can begin to relax and enjoy being at school again.

We are aspirational for every child.

Through small nurture groups, personalised support, and a carefully balanced curriculum, we help pupils develop firm foundations in literacy, numeracy, emotional regulation, social skills, and self-confidence.

Our goal is simple: help every pupil love learning again and be fully prepared for a confident, successful transition into Upper School.

Upper School (Ages 12–19 | KS4 & Post-16)

Preparing for a Bright Future

Our Upper School builds upon the strong foundations developed in Lower School, where we support young people to grow in confidence and independence as they prepare for adulthood.

We create highly personalised learning pathways that carefully balance academic progress with life skills, vocational experiences, and wellbeing support.

Guided by the Preparing for Adulthood framework, we help every pupil develop the knowledge, skills, and self-belief they need for their next steps.

Aspiring Pathways, Individual Support

Pupils in Upper School study a wide range of qualifications — from GCSEs and vocational courses to Level 1, 2 and 3 programmes.

They also benefit from work experience, supported internships, outdoor education, and our enriching life skills programme.

We are supportive of every young person while always respecting their individual needs and pace.

Our goal is to equip them with both qualifications and the real-life skills needed for further education, employment, or independent living.

At Bettws Lifehouse at Kingsland Grange, we provide a calm, supportive, and inspiring environment for children and young people aged 5 to 19. Our school is split into two nurturing settings — Lower School and Upper School — both designed to meet the individual needs of our pupils.

Mrs Nici Jones – HeadteacherI am delighted to welcome you to Bettws Lifehouse at Kingsland Grange.

With over seven years at Lifehouse and a background in specialist education and mathematics, I am deeply passionate about creating an environment where every pupil feels safe, valued, and able to grow.

Our experienced and caring staff team believe that every young person has unique gifts and potential.

We work closely with families to build strong partnerships, supporting each pupil academically, emotionally, and socially.

Using the THRIVE approach and trauma-informed practice, we help our pupils rebuild confidence and develop the skills they need for a happy and successful future.I am always happy to meet prospective pupils and their families.
